1. Make sure everyone is safe
Check yourself and any passengers for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 000 immediately. Move out of traffic if it's safe to do so, switch on your hazard lights, and stay clear of moving vehicles.
2. Swap details
Exchange names, phone numbers, addresses, registration numbers and insurance details with any other drivers involved. If there are witnesses, ask for their contact details too.
- Driver names & contact numbers
- Vehicle registrations
- Insurance company & policy details
- Location, date and time
3. Photograph everything
Photos make your claim faster and clearer. Capture wide shots showing the whole scene, then close-ups of the damage on every vehicle involved. Our photo guide shows exactly which shots help us assess your car quickest.
4. Report it
Report the accident to your insurer and, where required, to police (in NSW, report to police if anyone is injured, a vehicle is towed, or the other party fails to stop). Keep your claim or event number handy.
5. Get your car repaired properly
You generally have the right to choose your own repairer. Bring your car to Andrews Collision — or if it isn't safe to drive, book a tow and we'll bring it in. We'll handle your insurer and restore your car to factory standard, backed by our lifetime warranty.
